Sky Plus

Welcome to the Sky Plus page, Sky Plus (also known as Sky+) is an excellent piece of Sky Digital equipment that includes a digital video recorder with your Digibox. This digital video recorder makes recording television programmes a breeze, you simply choose a programme in the programme guide and then press record on your Sky Plus remote control. The Sky Plus system uses a hard drive which is inside of the Digibox and is the same kind of hard drive that computers use to store information. As Sky Plus uses a hard drive it is more flexible than standard video recorders as you can watch a recorded programme while you are recording another and it also has much more recording space available with 40 hours being the standard and some models have more (the Sky HD system). The Sky Plus system also has a special Sky Plus remote control that has playback, record and other controls on it, it also has a different design but is of the same, familiar shape.

As the Sky Plus system has a hard drive this also opens up a whole bunch of other cool features that the Sky Plus system can so, one of the most impressive is the ability to pause live television and then start it again at any time when you like. So there is no longer any need to wait for a commercial break for your tea break as you can simply pause the programme and when you return start it again, while you are away the Sky Plus system records what you are missing so that it can play it back to you when you press play. If you are recording a programme this also allows you to actually rewind the programme that you are watching so should you miss an important moment in a programme you can easily rewind it back and watch it again which can be very useful.

Another extremely useful function of the Sky Plus equipment is the series link option, if you choose to record a programme you can choose the series link and Sky Plus will record every further episode in the series of that programme. So should you be choose to record the first episode of DR Who or 24 you can then select series link and Sky Plus will record all of the episodes in the series so you will never miss another episode, you can then easily delete programmes that you have watched or choose to keep them so that you can watch them when ever you choose.

So Sky Plus is well worth having as it is very useful and has lots of very cool features, when you sign up for Sky Digital online you can easily choose the Sky Plus equipment and if you select certain channel packages there is also no subscription for Sky Plus so you only have to pay for the Sky Plus equipment.
